WHICH APPLICATION FOR THE VARIOUS VERSIONS ?

A container or a vehicle genset, (diminutive for generator unit), is used within the transport and storage world, event and service applications as a power supply for, among other things, sea containers or (horse) trailers that have a cooling unit, or for general power supply en route.
But what is the application of a genset and what can you expect from it?
We are happy to explain that to you here!

WHAT IS THE APPLICATION OF A MOBILE GENSET ?

As already mentioned, the application of a genset to power a “Reefer” is a sea container with a refrigeration compressor, or a trailer for container transport, before the first is provided with a clip-on, which is mounted on the front of the container, for the second, the generator combination is attached to the bottom of the chassis, the unit of which does not fall below the axle height of the trailer.
Reefers are used for international transport and storage and are used to transport perishable goods, mainly foodstuffs, such as fish & meat, but also vegetables, medicines and other items that are temperature sensitive.
On a ship, the reefers are centrally connected to the generators of the seagoing vessel, as soon as the reefer is loaded on a trailer, it usually has no power supply.
By providing the reefers with a generator during this road transport, the cooling compressor of the container is continuously supplied with power to bring the reefer to its final destination On the other hand, there are built-in and surface-mounted generators for numerous applications, such as luxurious horse trailers, fire engines, event trailers,

Service cars, intervention vehicles, but also wagons, trains, demo buses, etc.
An important factor for these built-in generators is usually the requirement to run the generator as quietly as possible.
By wrapping all components in a water jacket, an exceptional result is achieved of 58 dBa at 7 meters.

THREE DIFFERENT VERSIONS OF GENSETS

Here we discuss the difference between the undserslung, and the clip-on, for the transport world of reefers, and the built-in or surface-mounted generators that are mounted in a plejade of various applications.
You have probably seen a clip-on genset driving by on your way, because it hangs on the front end of the container.
These clip-ons are hung on the front side of the container at the top of the cooling compressor present on the container (reefer).
An undserslung genset is mounted at the bottom of the chassis of the truck trailer.
You will often encounter these types of gensets en route, many of these trailers are equipped with an undserslung as standard, so that transport companies are not hindered in choosing the containers to be collected or collected at the quay or factory.
The property of an undserslung genset is that it essentially remains mounted at the bottom of the chassis, so it does not need to be replaced when changing a container, whether or not a reefer.
The built-in or surface-mounted gensets are hung at the bottom of the chassis if possible or somewhere in a “lost space” and have different applications.
Unlike reefer gensets, you will rarely see these types of generators unless you hear a soft hum on a trailer or truck that is on duty at a construction site, event, or intervention.

TECHNOLOGY USED FOR THE JAVAC GENSETS

Limiting fuel consumption is important for the application on mobile units, but it is very important, especially with underslungs and substructures of gensets, that they have IP-55 protection class, with a view to the dust, rainwater and especially brine that are unavoidably very adversely affects the lifetime of the genset.
To avoid this problem at the alternator, we use standard IP-55 units
This technology is an exclusivity of Javac, because of the patented PM alternators, there is a complete shielding from external negative influences.
On the other hand, this PM technology succeeds in significantly reducing peak power of non-linear loads, which is a bothersome problem especially for compressors, as a result of which conventional generators are often oversized.
By choosing a javac, you save considerably on fuel and maintenance.
In contrast to Syncro alternators (Italy), which use approximately the same technology, the Javac alternators do not need to be fitted with an inverter, which significantly increases operational reliability.
For the engines you can choose between Yanmar, Kubota, Perkins, Stage V or a lower Euro standard.

The casing can be made in either Galva, ALU, stainless steel or enamelled steel.
For the built-in and surface-mounted generators where the noise load is a determining factor, all components are encased in a water jacket.
