What should you pay attention to when buying a compressed air hose?
Many companies do not give much thought to buying a compressed air hose, and how important those last metres of compressed air can be for their costly compressed air installation…
Compressed air hoses are available either on 50-metre rolls, or in fixed lengths of 20 metres fitted with pre-assembled brass threaded ends for mounting the compressed air coupling of your choice, or as 18-metre lengths on a convenient hose reel with an ingenious unwind and locking system for wall or ceiling mounting.
Imagine: you need compressed air in a cooled room or in winter conditions; then you quickly end up with an uncooperative hose which, once unrolled, will not lie flat on the workshop floor, and which becomes very stiff even with rubber hoses—not to mention the hose curling up and ballooning after some time of use.
The result: reels that jam and awkward storage and/or handling of the hose.
Especially in paint-spraying businesses, the inside of the compressed air hose is quickly affected by unfiltered oil vapours and impurities in the air, causing the silicone present in almost all compressed air hoses to dissolve on the inside. It is then carried along by the compressed air, resulting in, among other things, the well-known and annoying “fish eyes” in the spray finish.
All these kinds of problems are solved by choosing our hoses and matching reels, which are made from vulcanised double-wall natural rubber, free of silicone.
