The TX-3 is a bestseller in Javac’s compressor range. Originally, this compressor was equipped with a 3 HP motor, hence the name TX-3, but we have upgraded the pump so that 25% more power is now obtained.
That is why it is now equipped as standard with a unique 4 HP motor on 230 V.
This gives a flow rate of 400 liters at 6 bar and 360 liters at 10 bar net delivery, and yet this pump only runs at 900 rpm with an aspirated flow rate of 500 lt./min).
Built around a 100 liter thick-walled tank (hence the weight of 120 kg).
Please note that our compressors have a small buffer tank, so that the E-motors always start in no-load load.
This way we avoid having to use motors with a very high torque.
This gives 2 major advantages: no peak load = lower power consumption and the possibility to run in continuous load (it is better not to do this with a normal compressor).
It goes without saying that it is desirable to determine the capacity of your compressor in such a way that a rest point of 30% of its capacity is obtained.
The compressor is also equipped with an automatic start/stop system (prestostat), a safety group, and a practical reducing valve with 2 outputs to regulate the pressure on the compressor itself.
There are also 2 Orion couplings for direct air extraction and a ½” exit for connection to a ring main in the workhouse.
This compressor stands on 2 strong solid rubber wheels, which makes frequent moving possible.
The quality of compressed air is obtained by getting it as cooled as possible in the tank.
This significantly reduces condensation and is directly responsible for the quality of the compressed air.
The TX-3 is equipped with a cast steel V-pump, which together with the rib-cooled pipe ensure optimal after-cooling of the compressed air.
As described above, the speed is limited to 900 rpm, so that the pump does not start up hot, and makes much less noise than.
This is possible because we use standard concentric valves instead of butterfly valves, which are a lot more expensive, but the result can be seen in much higher efficiency, less heat development, and finally superior compressed air quality.
Although the water delivery is more limited for the TX-3 compressors, we recommend a centrifugal filter or a compressed air dryer when using compressed air machines, sandblasting, paint sprayers, etc.
The maintenance of this compressor is limited to regularly releasing the condensation water from the boiler and changing the oil every 300 working hours, using only the Javac compressor oil that separates the condensation water from the oil.
Never put multigrade oil on the pump, this leads to serious damage to the compressor pump, in principle any compressor pump.

Q&A

Q: Where are the TX-3 compressors manufactured?
A: In CZ Republic.

Q: What is the 5-year warranty?
A: With proper maintenance and use, everything except relocation costs.

Q: Is the 5-year warranty limited in running hours, ?
A: In principle, not as long as the compressor is used for its intended use.

Q: Why do I have to change the oil after 50 hours with the Nanofix oil you prescribe?
A: After 50 hours the pump has been broken in and the running-in oil must be removed and replaced with the Nanofix oil. This corrects the moving parts for minuscule errors on the casting, and corrects them so that the moving parts are, as it were, polished. This oil is also provided with a water-repellent component, which prevents the oil from entering into a mixture with water. This oil is very important for a long life of the compressor and is mandatory with regard to the warranty period of 5 years..

Q: Why are these compressors in Sahara yellow?
A: This is the best color for early detection of oil leaks.

Q: Why is cast steel better than ALU ?
A: Cast steel expands much less and slower than ALU, avoiding head gasket problems.

Q: Why are the air pipes between pump and boiler equipped with cooling fins?
A: It is important that the air goes to the boiler cooled to avoid condensation as much as possible. The cooling fins provide a much larger cooling surface.

Q: Why does this compressor weigh 120 kg.
A: This is equipped with a thick-walled boiler, cast steel compressor pump, and a B3 PM motor. This all contributes to the weight, resulting in a sustainable service life.

Q: How come this compressor with a 4 HP still runs with normal 16 AMP fuses .
A: This has everything to do with the pm technology of these engines, a Javac exclusive.

Q: Why do the TX and VX reciprocating compressors have a small extra boiler?
A: Every compressor should have this system. This allows the motor to start in zero load, result. Your motor will last much longer, and your electricity consumption will decrease.

Q: I heard that the Electro rates will change in 2022, something with a Cos Phi and peak load , what is the impact on this with a compressor ?
A: Very good question! As mentioned above, the zero load of the motor ensures that the peak load is very low. Hence the possibility to work with a 4 HP motor, unlike all other reciprocating compressors, and certainly the high-speed versions, the TX-3 is very economical with power consumption, you will also be much less injured when confronted with the expensive peak load. you will soon be charged heavily for this.

Q: What’s that turret with 2 exits for?
A: This is the regulator that allows you to regulate the output compressed air in a range between 3 and 10 bar.

Q: Can I set my compressor to a lower working pressure to save energy?
A: Yes you can, with the pressure switch (prestostat) of condor (D) you can easily set your delta to the pressure you want.

Q: Is it important that my compressor gives 10 bar air pressure?
A: Our TX-3 is set at 10 bar from the factory, but this is not that important. Almost all compressed air applications are set at 6.2 bar or less. Much more important is how many liters per minute it gives, and with a net yield of 400 liters you are at the maximum possible within a voltage of 230 volt mono, (the TX-3 bis doubles this flow)

Q: Is this compressor heavy enough to sandblast?
A: Depends on what you want to do, a 2-3mm jet nozzle will suffice. However, if you are going to air gum or blast with, for example, the small Ibix boiler, with a 4 mm nozzle, you need 600 Lit/minute. Then you should look out for the TX-3 BIS, with a flow rate of 800 litres/minute or, of course, look out for a three-phase compressor, where you can go almost unlimited in power.

Q: Is the TX-3 suitable to be used with compressed air machines,
A:  With a net output of 400 litres, this compressor can handle most machines.

Q: How long can I use this compressor, and what happens after continuous use?
A: The DIN standard states that a reciprocating compressor must have 7 minutes of rest, and 3 minutes of operation, because the TX-3 is a slow-running compressor, you have more space, but it is still a piston compressor. With excessive use, the oil in the crankcase will evaporate, with the result that the oil starts to “steam”, you will notice oil leaks, but the viscosity will also decrease, causing irrevocable damage to the pump itself (no guarantee).

Q: Can I use an extension cable
A: Absolute but at least a 2.5 mm² section.

Q: Where can I buy this compressor?
A: There are a limited number of dealers in the Benelux where you can go, we can indicate the nearest dealer on simple request.

Q: What is the difference between a direct coupled compressor and a V-belt version?
A: Initially a direct coupled compressor does at least 1500 rpm, but also 3000 rpm a mathematical law gives the higher the rpm, the warmer the air, the more condensation, and shorter operating time. The TX-3 does 900 rpm, which has a much more beneficial effect on compressed air quality.

Q: What valves does the compressor have.
A: Unlike most compressors on the market, our pumps are equipped with concentric valves, not butterfly valves, where the efficiency is much lower and hence the need for a higher speed.

Q: Is water in my air a problem and can I prevent it?
A: We are talking about condensation here, this is twofold, on the one hand you will have to drain the water at the bottom of the boiler every week. There is also the formation of condensation in the compressed air itself. To achieve dry compressed air here, you have to make an extra investment with a dryer. See on our site which systems are suitable for you, or ask your salesperson for advice.

Q: I see battery-mounted oil-free compressors on several sites, which apparently also give a large volume of compressed air, isn’t this better than a TX-3 ?
A: Please note these are diaphragm compressors, with a very limited lifespan. Many people have already been fooled, these types of compressors cannot possibly be compared to our TX versions, let’s say we catalog them under the heading of “toys”.

Q: How come I can’t find the TX compressors at my usual supplier where I get my tools buy ?
A: You should know that most of the trading companies are grouped into buying groups, which apparently are not organized to include 1 specific compressor in their trading platform. Too bad for people, who then have to be satisfied with a much more expensive compressor with less good properties. The TX-3 is a gem of technology that must be found. You seem to have found success with it.

Q: Why is the price of the TX-3 incredibly cheap for its quality? And compared to brands like Fini, Contimac, Airpress, Brown, etc. ?
A: We see the TX-3 as a business card. Meanwhile, we are the market leader with more than 25,000 compressors sold over the last 20 years in the Benelux and far beyond. Many people are extremely satisfied with this, and this gives rise to a great interest in the rest of our compressors.
